  • Q. Why do I have to be weighed at each visit to the clinic?

    A. Your weight is important to us because:
In case of an emergency, having a recent weight may help us know the correct medicine dose for you.
Recording your weight helps us know if you are carrying extra fluid or if you are dehydrated from an illness.
If your blood pressure or blood sugar is not responding to treatment, it could be from gaining weight.

    Q. What if I don't want to know the number?
    A. You can step on the scale backward and ask the staff not to tell you the reading.
Please do not refuse to get weighed. It is very important as we work together to manage your health.

    Dr. Sudeep Gupta DO
My wife, three boys and I live in Johnston. I am a native Iowan growing up in Ames and then moving to Des Moines in 1991 when I started medical school. I am a big sports fan for the Vikings, ISU Cyclones, and Chicago Cubs. My favorite movies are Hoosiers, The Hunt for Red October, and any James Bond movie.

    Dr. Robert Callahan MD

I enjoy spending time with my wife and three daughters. Our home is in Ankeny. My hobbies are gardening, jogging, and attending sporting events. I am also a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs.

    Dr. Jeannie Giddings DO

I enjoy spending time with my family, working in my yard gardening, and decorating my house. I love to go shopping and finding great bargains! I also enjoy traveling and hope to see more of this amazing world.

    Dr. Parveen Kaur MD

I moved to Iowa 3 years ago for my residency and have loved it here so much that we decided to make it our home for the future. My husband and I are blessed with two daughters, who occupy most of our time. I love to engage myself in anything creative, be it painting, and scrap booking and trying new recipes. I enjoy traveling to new locations and exploring different cultures.

    Krista Webb PA-C

My husband and I have 2 young children, one boy and one girl. I love staying active outside with my kids and enjoy swimming, jogging and going on long bike rides as a family. My husband and I are "foodies" and relish any chance we get to have a dinner out together. I also am very involved teaching in the children's ministry at my church. I grew up in Beaverdale and have been in family practice for over 10 years.

    Betsy Dettman NP

My husband and I have been married for 25 years, and have 5 children and 8 grandchildren. We enjoy family, biking, gardening, movies, music, reading, walking, and attending concerts and plays, and Iowa Barnstormers, Iowa Cubs, and Iowa Energy games. We cheer for all Iowa college sports and the Atlanta Braves.

    Mary Klemesrud PA

My husband and I have one daughter, a new puppy named Tater and we live in Grimes. Our family loves sports, traveling, watching movies and reading. We are fans of the Hawkeyes, Steelers and yes, we are long suffering Cub fans. Our travel bucket list includes traveling to the 4 major professional tennis tournaments in Melbourne, Paris, London and New York.
